| What
are Life Groups?
A
Life Group is a small, informal gathering
of people who commit to regularly meeting
together for the purpose of continually
growing in their relationship with Jesus
Christ and with each other.
Why
should I join one?
Jesus
taught in Matthew 22 that the greatest
commandment is to "Love the Lord your
God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind" and
the second is to "love your neighbor
as yourself." A Life Group is a tool
that God uses to develop these relationships
with Him and our neighbors.
What
happens at group meetings?
There
are four basic activities that comprise
the typical Life Group and each of these
activities is a necessary component
of the process of spiritual growth.
Relationship
Building
The
Christian life is not intended to be
one of isolation, but rather is to be
lived in and supported by relationships
with others. Life Groups provide the
ability to develop relationships with
a small group of people meeting with
a common purpose and commitment.
Bible
Study
The
Bible instructs us how we can know and
serve God better and provides the blueprint
for spiritual growth. Within the setting
of a Life Group we learn to apply biblical
teachings to our everyday lives.
Prayer
Humbling
ourselves before God in prayer evidences
our dependence upon him. Answered prayer
affirms and builds our faith. By praying
as a group we are inviting God into
our presence and focusing on our relationship
with him.
Outreach
Jesus
Christ modeled a life of service toward
those around him. Life Groups allow
each of us to use our gifts to serve
each other and our community. Through
this effort we can provide an inviting
place for newcomers to experience the
Real Life Christian Church.
How
often do Life Groups meet?
Our
groups meet weekly for 1.5 to 2 hours
and are open to all adults. Most also
have an option for childcare. For information
on meeting times and locations, or for
help selecting a great group for you,

Perkins (please include phone
number with email) or visit the Welcome
Table Sunday morning. |
